good place to stop after a drive to malin head. old fashioned tea room with excellent lunchtime menu. very pleasant staff.
We were in Malin Town over the weekend attending "The Guth Gafa International Documentary Film Festival" and had a great time. But, watching all these films makes you awful thirsty, so we called into Lily's for a pint, and ended up staying for the evening. What a boozer! There are only 3 bars in Malin, including Lily's, and it's head and shoulders over the other two...

One of the Best Bars I was ever in
We went there by recommendation of a local whom we met the night before at the bar of the Malin Hotel. A music session was announced, nothing high class but probably interesting and non-commercial. The pub is a small but very nice one, not high-end furniture but very cosy. You'll meet mostly locals here, guess we've been the only tourists for a long time. The beer is good, we had, of course, Guinness, and the music session began at about 11 p.m. Don't expect it to start earlier. when they think it should start, then it starts. The music was really handmade by locals, neighbours and friends with good voices and good skills on various instruments. Every now and then another guest jumped in and started singing. The evening was great ! Will never forget it !

Authentic Irish Bar - Kind locals and good music
I went there with my girlfriend just for a coffee (which was good) and the owner was so kind as to give us directions and tell us about beautiful places that we would have missed otherwise. They were so helpful and kind that I would strongly reccomand to anyone passing by to stop there, even for just a coffee and a chat!
This place sums up all the reasons why I love Ireland so much!
Great place, great people!
Went to Lily's bar on a Thursday night when there was live music. Small room with bar was heaving with people, impromptu music - seemed whoever turned up with an instrument could join in - but it was absolutely fantastic! Great atmosphere, everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Evening also had an incredible Irish dancer. Good choice of drinks including a wide range of whiskeys. An absolute must if in the area.
Please leave your reviews here for one of Donegal's finest pubs. We look forward to hearing from you!
